Description
The Waste Department is responsible for the collection and treatment of waste under municipal responsibility in both the short and long term. Collection and treatment of waste is performed by contractors. The department is responsible for service development, behavior-change initiatives to prevent waste, developing waste management plans and regulations, managing the city's closed landfills, and operating Återbruket.
In January 2027, Kretsloppsparken Högsbo will open – a modern circular economy park focused on reuse, sustainability, and circular flows. The park will replace the old Högsbo recycling center. We are now seeking a sales associate for Återbruket's store.
Job Responsibilities
Återbruket sells used and reused building materials and is part of Kretsloppsparken Högsbo.
As a sales associate at Återbruket, your main tasks will include helping customers in the store, receiving goods for sale, and maintaining order in the sales area. The work involves a fast pace and includes heavy lifting. You will work day shifts, evening shifts, and weekends.

You take responsibility for your tasks, are thorough, and ensure that what you start is completed with good quality.
You communicate clearly and professionally with both colleagues and visitors and contribute to a positive and respectful approach. You collaborate easily, but can also work independently and make well-founded decisions when the situation requires it.
On weekends, the store often experiences high customer traffic. Therefore, it is important that you thrive in a fast-paced environment, can prioritize, and work efficiently even under stress. You remain calm in challenging situations, separate the issue from the person, and act professionally even when the pace is high.
To apply for this position, you must have:
High school diploma.
Strong ability to express yourself and communicate in Swedish, both spoken and written.
Experience in service work, for example in retail, hospitality, or restaurants.
Interest and experience in crafts, carpentry, or building material reuse.
Good physical fitness as heavy lifting is involved.
It is also an advantage if you have:
B-class driver's license
Forklift certification
Experience mentoring people in work training or young people.
Speaking multiple languages.
