About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking additional employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. When we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, detention facilities, and inmate transport. The Fosie operational area consists of Fosie Prison, located on the outskirts of Malmö and built in 1986. Operations are in constant change, and in fall/winter 2026, a detention facility is expected to open. Currently, the prison has 173 places for male inmates in security class 2, with approximately 300 employees and 10 managers overseeing, leading, and developing operations. When the detention facility opens, there will be 56 places for detainees and 101 prison places for men. You will work both administratively and operatively on security-related matters. You will have an advisory role on security issues for the management group and working groups, and participate in security forums both internally and externally. We are looking for someone who can think strategically and has a broad perspective on issues. You can move between strategic and operational matters, see the long-term significance and broader consequences of things, and adapt your actions accordingly. You have initiative and drive, which means you can work independently as well as with others and achieve results on complex issues that may arise in your daily work. In your role as Security Officer, you will work largely with monitoring and quality assurance of security-related work. You plan, implement, follow up, and document security work and have a coordinating role in the operational area. In this role, you will, among other things: • establish local work procedures and local guidelines for the security manual • serve as the local ISAP coordinator (incident reporting system) • conduct inspections and controls within the operational area regarding security work in collaboration with management • coordinate systematic fire safety work • be responsible for local security meetings • manage the ordering, storage, and inventory of security equipment Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: • High school diploma or equivalent, or other education in combination with relevant work experience as determined by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service • Experience with security-related work • Good computer skills and administrative ability • Excellent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written • Class B driver's license It is also advantageous to have: • Academic education in security or other education deemed equivalent by the Swedish Prison and Probation Service • Experience with security administration or similar tasks • Experience working with the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's administrative systems • Completed internal security training within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service Other Information The Swedish Prison and Probation Service has chosen to remove the personal letter and replaced it with selection questions relevant to the position.
