Retrofit Technician
We are now seeking a Retrofit Technician for the Retrofit department at our facility in Tillberga, Västerås. If you have worked in production, are skilled with the reporting systems Maintmaster and SRMS, and want an opportunity to develop further, this might be the right position for you!
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
We need people interested in working in the Retrofit department to perform resets. Once a Change Request is complete, your task will be to handle it by executing the changes specified in the Change Request. Some examples of changes that occur include replacing toilet locks, luggage racks and electrical components. As a Retrofit Technician, you will also be responsible for reporting and documentation in relevant systems. Reset work is carried out in Hagalund, Olskroken and Tillberga, and work may be performed in the evenings, on weekends and at night. Since the work must fit into schedules assigned by the customer, we sometimes notify you of work hours on short notice, which requires great flexibility for travel and overnight stays—for which you will be compensated.
As a Retrofit Technician, you will be part of a small, close-knit team where collaboration, problem-solving and commitment are important aspects of the role.
Desired qualifications / Personal qualities
Requirements:
-Good Swedish in speech and writing
-Class B driving license
-Flexible to work at another location on short notice with varying working hours
Meritorious:
-Valid certificate that you are authorized to perform operative safety-classified work on trains
-Good administrative skills and experience with existing reporting systems (SRMS, Maintmaster, Roxtra)
-Post-secondary education as an electrician/mechanic or equivalent experience
As a person, you are self-directed, solution-oriented with good collaboration skills. You should enjoy work that offers variety and where you get the opportunity to further develop your train expertise!
The position involves safety-classified work according to industry standards and requires a passed medical examination according to the Swedish Transport Agency's regulations and general advice (TFS 2019:112) on health examinations and health status for personnel with safety-critical work tasks within railways.
