Job Responsibilities
We are now seeking a qualified resource pedagogue for our AST unit. Do you want to make a real difference for students? Are you committed and flexible with a big heart for students with diverse needs? Then this is a job for you where you will become an important key person in our team.
The AST unit is a specially designed unit for students within the autism spectrum. We have the natural sciences program, social sciences program, arts program (visual arts and design), and IMA - Individual Alternative. Here, we have special educators, specialized teachers, a school counselor, and subject teachers with broad expertise and many years of experience. Our approach is based on trust, respect, and consideration for functional variations. We highlight our students' strengths.
Together with school leadership and colleagues, you will work to create a safe and stimulating environment where students thrive, develop, and reach their goals. The position includes conversations with students and parents, as well as close collaboration within your own team. You will become an important part of a team that strives to give every student the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Qualifications
We see that you have relevant post-secondary education, for example in socialpedagogy, behavioral science, support pedagogy, or special education, or alternatively other education that the employer deems equivalent.
We are seeking someone who:
Has experience working with students with neurodevelopmental disorders, language difficulties, and low proficiency levels in Swedish, mathematics, and English.
Is calm, flexible, and solution-focused with a positive view of students even in difficult situations.
Enjoys working closely with students and their guardians—in groups and individually—and wants to be an active part of students' daily lives where relationship-building is a very important component.
Both sees students' academic development and social development as important goals and can contribute with support both inside and outside the classroom—for example, following students, organizing break activities, and creating safe contexts during the school day to promote good school attendance and to be extra support for both students and teaching staff during class time.
Have knowledge of and can use compensatory aids and alternative forms of communication, although this is not a requirement.
