Responsibilities As principal, you hold overall responsibility for operations, staff, work environment, finances, and results for your area's organization and leadership. You have a clear mandate to develop the operation toward higher teaching quality and deepened professionalism. You work with continuous improvements based on student needs and applicable legislation, driven by a strong belief in all students' willingness and ability to learn and grow. You will primarily work toward the goals outlined in national policy documents and in the children's and education committee's operational plan. This means a clear focus on student knowledge development, goal achievement, and a safe and equitable education. A central part of your mission is to translate overarching goals into concrete priorities in the operation and, through systematic quality work, follow up on results, identify development areas, and lead the operation toward continuous improvements. One of the greatest challenges in your mission is creating a long-term sustainable operation where pedagogical goals, organization, and financial conditions work hand in hand. As principal, you need to be able to prioritize, lead change, and create engagement and participation among staff, while maintaining a clear direction toward operational goals. In your role as principal, you are part of the primary school's principal group where you, together with other principals, take joint responsibility for the whole. Collaborating with other departments and, when needed, external actors is part of the principal's work. You are expected to contribute to good collaboration with, for example, social services. About the Workplace The children's and education department's primary task is to offer a safe and stimulating learning environment where we equip children and young people for the future. Svandamsskolan is located in the southern part of Nynäshamn and is a two-parallel school for students in grades F-6. What We Are Looking For in You To succeed in this role, you have: • Teaching degree or equivalent • Principal training • School leadership experience in primary school • Experience with budget work • Experience successfully meeting challenges—economic, pedagogical, and organizational • Good digital learning ability • Very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written It is an advantage if you have: • Knowledge of personnel systems, accounting, and invoicing systems Personal Qualities We Are Looking For To succeed in this role, we see that you are a confident and clear leader who creates engagement, participation, and a common direction in the operation. Since you are responsible for both the quality of operations and its financial conditions, you also have a holistic perspective and use available resources in a responsible and efficient manner.
