As principal of the preschool, you have a key role in shaping an education where every child gets the opportunity to develop, be challenged, and succeed – every day. We are now seeking an engaged principal for Älvstrandens Preschool, which has approximately 125 children and about 28 staff members. The position also includes management of John Blund, which is care during inconvenient working hours. Älvstrandens Preschool is located in the heart of Sörberge, surrounded by beautiful nature and with proximity to forest, river, and mountains. The preschool is divided into several separate buildings that together create a pleasant, village-like environment. Here you are met with large green areas, inviting play areas, and a safe atmosphere that encourages exploration and learning in interaction with nature. Here in Timrå, you work as a principal in a municipality where the entire management chain – board, administration, and school units – has a common and clear direction. We work together in clear roles and responsibility distribution; we solve problems where they arise and follow up on decisions that are made. Continuous monitoring and analysis of operations is a very important part of your work. Within the Department of Children and Education, there is ongoing work to develop our operations – always with the best interests of the children in focus. By improving learning environments, working methods, and pedagogical content, we strive for every child to have the opportunity to grow, develop, and feel secure in their daily lives. We have a systems theory approach where we manage and lead the organization through developed structures, clear assignments, and where decisions are made far out in the organization. All principals in the municipality work closely together as a team and you also work closely with the Assistant Director of Administration with continuous development meetings. Job Responsibilities As principal, you have overall responsibility for the preschool's pedagogical activities, staff, work environment, and finances. You lead and inspire the preschool's staff and create good conditions for development in both teaching and work environment. As principal, you should ensure that the preschool is organizationally well-managed. You should ensure that the education creates value and that every child develops based on their individual conditions. The principal's assignment is also described in the School Act and curricula. Qualifications You should: - Have familiarity with the School Act, curriculum, work environment law, and other relevant laws and governing documents. - Have a desire to lead through systematicity and follow-up. - Have the ability to be systematic, thorough, and able to analyze results. - Have trust-based leadership with a focus on collaboration. - Have a very strong interest in children's development toward the goals. - Have good communication skills both outside and within the organization. - Have university/higher education and experience that provides pedagogical insight. Meritorious: - Started or completed principal training - Experience as principal/assistant principal with personnel, finance, and operational responsibility - Experience working in a politically governed organization We place great emphasis on personal suitability and your ability to collaborate.
