The Workplace Artediskolan grades 7-9 is Nordmalings municipality's middle school with approximately 200 students and around 40 staff members. We are a positive and competent workplace with strong local student well-being, good conditions for collaboration, and a clear focus on quality, development, and student success. Artediskolan is centrally located in Nordmaling, near both the F-6 school, preschools, and beautiful natural areas. As principal, you will be part of the children's and education sector's leadership team together with six principal colleagues and other key functions. You work closely with the director of children and education, who is also your direct supervisor. The Role and Responsibilities As principal of Artediskolan's grades 7-9, you lead, develop, and monitor operations with a focus on student learning, safety, and goal achievement. You have overall responsibility for operations, personnel, finances, and student well-being. Through clear and engaging leadership, you create conditions for both staff and students to succeed. Responsibilities included in the assignment include: Lead, organize, and develop school operations based on school legislation, curriculum, and municipal goals. Responsible for operations quality, results, and systematic quality work with focus on increased goal achievement, a safe and inclusive learning environment, and high-quality instruction. Manage personnel responsibilities for school staff, including recruitment, competency development, work environment, and rehabilitation, etc. Responsible for school finances and ensuring efficient resource utilization. Lead and develop school student well-being work in close collaboration with student well-being professionals. Be a clear educational leader who promotes instructional quality and student learning. Drive development and change initiatives based on operational needs and future challenges. Create and maintain good collaboration with students, guardians, staff, labor unions, and external partners. Responsible for unit personnel planning. In the sector's leadership team, you contribute your expertise, solution-focused approach, and commitment to the entire education operation. Together with other principals, you drive shared development issues and work toward equitable education with high quality. Your Profile To be suitable for the position of principal, you have pedagogical higher education and teacher certification. You have also begun or completed the state principal training program and have previous experience working in a leadership position in primary school. It is a merit if you have experience in leadership in upper grades of primary school and experience leading change (change management). We are looking for an experienced and quality-conscious leader driven by developing operations and achieving good results. You create understanding and insight into the opportunities and challenges that come with working in a smaller municipality. You have good collaboration skills, build trustful relationships, and work with student success in focus. As a person, you are loyal, have a good overview, and the ability to see both strategic and operational perspectives. You are creative, solution-oriented, and confident in your leadership, with the ability to lead change, engage, and motivate staff toward common goals.
