About the Operation The Case Management and Political Support Unit is part of the Planning and Political Support division. The unit's primary mission is to provide support to operations, regional management, and the elected representative organization through responsibility for case management processes, legal affairs, and systems related to case management. The Regional Management Administration is tasked with supporting Region Västernorrland's leadership, elected representatives, core operations, and affected external stakeholders within various areas of expertise. Introduction related to the regional counsel role takes place within the group of regional counsels and the chief legal officer. We are now seeking a regional counsel for the case management and political support unit. The position is a permanent full-time position with start date as soon as possible by agreement. The position involves providing qualified legal advice within several areas of law that the legal function works with. Central areas of law that the legal function works with include healthcare law, municipal law, public procurement, public access to information and confidentiality, administrative law, contract law, and total defense law, among others. The legal function currently consists of three regional counsels and a chief legal officer who work with all of Region Västernorrland's committees and their administrations. The regional counsels and chief legal officer are located in the Case Management and Political Support Unit in the Regional Management Administration. Work Responsibilities The work responsibilities include contributing legal expertise to investigations and projects, providing statements on legal matters, conducting training and information initiatives, to some extent representing Region Västernorrland in court, and otherwise assisting with matters that arise within the legal function. To succeed and thrive in the role, you need to be confident in taking personal responsibility for planning and prioritizing your work. The work largely involves you managing cases independently, although collaboration and experience sharing with colleagues is a natural part of everyday work. All counsels together form Region Västernorrland's whistleblower function and handle cases within the framework of the so-called whistleblower act. Examples of practical work tasks include investigating matters, preparing memoranda and official statements, conducting training, participating in meetings within various operational processes, and handling cases legally. The work consists of small and large matters; you will work with several varying cases in parallel.
