About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now recruiting more staff. Our most important goal is to reduce reoffending – to break the vicious cycle. When we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, remand centers, and prisoner transport. Description In Region Nord, the Swedish Prison and Probation Service will expand significantly across many different geographic areas during 2027-2035. The expansion will involve establishments in locations where operations currently exist as well as entirely new locations, and in total Region Nord will manage 7 to 17 different projects across all operational branches. Job Responsibilities This position is to serve as an expert regional coordinator for capacity expansion. This is a new function and means you will be part of Region Nord's staff. The staff currently consists of approximately ten different experts and other positions who share various work tasks and assignments that differ in scope and complexity. The role as regional coordinator for capacity expansion means that together with the section manager, you are responsible for the staff's work on matters directly related to various forms of expansion in the region. An important part of the assignment is to ensure regional and national support to the local project organizations. During the year, an evaluation and mapping has been conducted where identified needs have been converted into proposed action plans that will begin to be implemented in 2027. This material should be seen as a job description for the role of coordinator for capacity expansion. As regional coordinator for capacity expansions, you need to enjoy handling many different work tasks simultaneously, have a good ability to understand how different complexities need to be managed to move toward the desired result. You should have a good ability to communicate with various internal and external stakeholders and be able to switch between operational, tactical, and strategic issues without getting stuck in details. Your function will be the hub in our work to create good conditions for local project organizations and for regional management to optimize its ability to provide collective resources efficiently and sustainably over time. Travel is included in the position, both within the region and nationally. Work location and other terms according to agreement. Qualifications The assignment requires very strong analytical ability in complex issues and processes. The ability to see the big picture and understand relationships in operations is a requirement. You are flexible and adapt easily to changing requirements and circumstances. You are confident and stable even in stressful situations and have the ability to focus on the right things. The role also requires that you are goal- and results-oriented and take own initiatives. You have very good cooperation skills. You should also be communicative and have the ability to inform clearly and listen to new ideas. We place great importance on personal suitability.
