Description Are you an accounting economist looking for a broad and independent role where you can take responsibility, contribute your expertise, and help develop new ways of working? Then this could be the opportunity for you! We're now seeking a reliable, driven, and thorough accounting economist for a temporary position in our accounting unit. The temporary assignment runs through February 28, 2028. With us, you'll work in a socially important operation where the finance function plays a central role in creating stable and reliable decision-making foundations for our business areas. Karlstads Energi is Karlstad's largest municipal company with approximately 270 employees. Through our operations in power distribution networks, electricity trading, district heating, district networks, recycling, and waste management, we contribute daily to a sustainable and well-functioning society for the residents of Karlstad. As an accounting economist with us, you'll become part of an engaged team that together is responsible for accounting across our five companies. We are seven colleagues who work closely together, share knowledge, and help each other reach our common goals. Responsibilities In your role as accounting economist, you'll be responsible for ongoing financial work for one or more of our companies. You'll work independently throughout the accounting process, from ongoing bookkeeping to financial statements and reporting, while also providing important support to operations on accounting and finance matters. Your responsibilities include, among others: Ongoing bookkeeping and reconciliations. VAT and tax declarations. Analyses, follow-ups, and financial controls. Fixed asset accounting. Financial statement work. Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and participation in annual reports. Regulatory reporting. Support to operations on accounting and finance matters. Collaboration with colleagues and internal functions within the organization. Development and streamlining of accounting routines, processes, and systems. The role involves many contact points and close collaboration with operations. The work is varied and characterized periodically by a higher pace, especially in connection with financial statements and reporting, which requires structure, planning, and ability to meet deadlines. Qualifications We're looking for someone with post-secondary education in accounting from a university, vocational college, or other education we deem equivalent. You have several years of experience with independent accounting work and feel confident working with qualified accounting matters throughout the accounting process. You have good knowledge of applicable accounting rules, are experienced working with business and accounting systems, and have very good Excel skills. If you have experience with the Raindance accounting system, we see that as a merit.
