About the operation
The Forensic Psychiatry Clinic in Säter is responsible for highly specialized care at county, regional and national levels with a total of 76 care beds. We primarily care for patients according to LRV but also individuals who have become ill during criminal detention or remand. At the clinic, nurses, nursing assistants and treatment teams consisting of doctors, psychologists, social workers, rehabilitation assistants and addiction counselors work together. We focus on development, improved care processes and a good working environment.
Work tasks
Department 36 is a class 3 unit where patients in the discharge phase are cared for, often with greater freedom privileges and access to personal communication devices. The patients have progressed in their treatment and the focus is on providing support and skills to promote recovery and prepare for life outside the clinic.
As a nursing assistant, you work closely with patients in daily care work. You are a contact person and share responsibility with the care team, nurses, coordinators, doctors and treatment teams for the patients' care process. The work includes:
Supportive conversations and motivational work
ADL training and daily living support
Participation in rounds and care planning
Documentation and reporting
Practical responsibilities such as kitchen, storage, ordering and basic cleaning
Being a role model and contributing to the patient's development towards greater independence
Care is based on the individual needs and circumstances of the patient. The work involves encountering various emotional expressions such as anxiety, fear, joy and anger and requires the ability to create structure, security and motivation.
Qualifications
Mandatory requirements
Degree from the Care and Nursing Program, upper secondary vocational training Nursing Assistant in Psychiatric Care 400 credits or equivalent relevant education.
Good knowledge of Swedish spoken and written
Good cooperation skills and interest in teamwork
Ability to meet and interact with patients in complex situations
Meritorious
Experience in psychiatric care
Experience with documentation in medical record systems
Category B driver's license
Interest in care and treatment interventions within forensic psychiatry
Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
