Description Unit BUP Serious Norm-Violating Behavior (BUP-ANB) is a new regional unit being established in 2026. The operations are based on the government assignment "Integrated Care Project" which ran from 2021–2024 and has now been developed into a regular regional activity. The assignment is to offer specialized psychiatric care to community-placed children and young people up to 21 years old with serious norm-violating behavior and concurrent psychiatric care needs, when care does not function in ordinary outpatient forms. The unit will be built with four mobile interdisciplinary teams consisting of physicians, psychologists, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, and care administrators. The unit will consist of approximately 25 employees. The target group is children and young people with extensive and complex psychiatric and social comorbidity where difficulties are often long-term and closely intertwined. Many have experienced previous care breakdowns and multiple placements, serious mental health issues such as self-harm, trauma, or behavioral disorders. The catchment area is the entire Västra Götaland Region, and in the first phase the unit will focus on placed young people at SiS homes in the region. Placed children and young people at HVB homes and within the Prison Service are also planned to be included in the assignment. The unit will be organizationally placed within the department of Neurology and Psychiatry for Children at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, within the section BUP Round-the-Clock Care and Specialist Outpatient Clinics. The unit will be a mobile operation to meet young people where they are. As this is a complex target group, clinical work will be conducted on a team basis and close collaboration with other professionals in the same team will occur. Duties As a psychologist in BUP-ANB you work in an interdisciplinary team and close to the child's everyday environment. Your duties include: Conducting psychiatric diagnostic assessments and evaluations Providing individualized psychological treatment Participating in joint care planning and coordination together with other actors Mentoring and consulting SiS staff, school personnel, and other professionals regarding approach and daily adaptations Contributing to increased knowledge and understanding of psychiatric conditions in the environments where the child is present Qualifications We are looking for you who have a psychology degree and are a licensed psychologist. You have experience working within child and adolescent psychiatry or other operations with children and young people with complex issues. You have good collaboration skills and enjoy working in interdisciplinary settings, as teamwork is a central part of the assignment. You are flexible, responsible, and have good interpersonal skills in interactions with both patients and colleagues. We also see that you have the ability to work independently while actively contributing to the team's collaborative work. You are also motivated by the opportunity to be part of starting up and shaping a new regional unit. It is meritorious if you have experience in: Work with placed children and young people Forensic psychiatry, trauma, NPF, or self-harm behavior Mentoring, training, or consultative services Development or startup work You have good ability to work in teams and in interdisciplinary settings, as teamwork is a central part of the assignment.
