The Department of Applied Educational Science is seeking a test developer for the Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test's verbal sections. This is a permanent part-time position at 80%, with start date by agreement. The application deadline is 2026-10-08. DescriptionThe Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test consists of several subtests that measure different types of skills relevant to academic studies. This position primarily involves work on developing the subtests that measure skills in the Swedish language. The duties mainly include construction and review of new tests, test items and related test materials, as well as administration and communication related to this work. The position also includes tasks related to research and evaluation work in connection with test operations. DutiesAs a test developer, your main duties will include: Constructing, developing, and reviewing test items and related test materials Analyzing and following up on test results Carrying out administrative and communicative tasks connected to the work Conducting development and evaluation work The position may also involve participation in scientific work related to test development, as well as contributing to documentation and reporting of studies and results. QualificationsWe are looking for a professional with higher education at an advanced level with a focus on the Swedish language. In addition to excellent knowledge of Swedish, you must also have excellent ability to express yourself well in speech and writing, as well as experience reading and understanding academic texts in English. The role requires good understanding of test construction, including how test items are developed, empirically tested, and statistically evaluated, and how such information is applied in practical development work. Education in test theory, test methodology, or documented experience in professional test development is a merit. As a test developer, you should enjoy analytical and problem-solving work and have a clear knowledge-seeking approach. A central task is critical review of test items and test-related materials, which requires high standards of accuracy, objectivity, and the ability to receive and use feedback constructively. The work involves both independent responsibility and close teamwork, which requires good collaboration skills. Workload and duties vary over time, so you need to be able to handle temporary periods of high activity and adapt to changing circumstances. Personal suitability will be given significant weight. About UsThe Department of Applied Educational Science has approximately 100 employees working in education, research, and commissioned services. The department has a broad profile based on an interdisciplinary and practice-oriented foundation. The department studies conditions for learning in social, cultural, and institutional contexts, the potential of information technology for learning, as well as assessment and evaluation. The department produces, on commission from the National Board of Student Finance and Universities, the majority of the Swedish Scholastic Aptitude Test. Work on the test is conducted in a project group that currently consists of approximately 15 employees. The group needs reinforcement in the form of an additional test developer for the test's verbal sections.
