We are now recruiting a sample coordinator for Molecular Cancer Diagnostics at Karolinska University Hospital. You will be offered a stimulating and developmental role with coordinating tasks from order to result work in an operation using the latest methodology in molecular cancer diagnostics close collaboration with multiple different professions and departments working hours during daytime on weekdays, Monday–Friday 08.00–16.30, with possibility for flexible hours. About the position You will be part of the Molecular Cancer Diagnostics unit, which is part of the Section for Molecular Cancer Diagnostics & Screening. The operation is located in both Huddinge and Solna, and the position involves work at both locations. As a sample coordinator, you have a central function in the workflow for cancer samples undergoing genomic profiling. You work in a multidisciplinary team together with, among others, physicians, engineers, molecular biologists, and biomedical analysts. Your main responsibility is to ensure that ordered analyses are tracked through the entire workflow and that cases are progressed to avoid unnecessary delays. Your tasks include, among others: follow up ordered genomic analyses from order to final result identify samples and cases that deviate from expected lead times proactively contact relevant people and departments to progress cases maintain regular contact with pathologists, the molecular laboratory, and external partners, including GMCK follow up that material is sent forward between different steps in the process maintain and develop procedures and tools for sample tracking compile and analyze statistics on lead times produce clear reports and graphs showing lead times and development over time identify bottlenecks, recurring problems, and areas for improvement contribute to developing a more structured and efficient approach to genomic profiling. We are looking for you We are looking for someone who thrives in a coordinating role where you can manage complex workflows, follow up on multiple parallel cases, and contribute to driving processes forward. You have a good understanding of logistics, processes, and workflows and work carefully and solution-oriented. Beyond this, we are looking for someone who: is proactive and works actively by identifying needs and problems at an early stage. You take initiative and drive matters forward, even when you depend on others to move ahead, and are persistent in following up on cases has problem-solving analytical skills and can identify deviations, bottlenecks, and recurring problems in complex workflows as well as analyze causes and find solutions has numerical analytical skills and can work with data and statistics to identify correlations and development over time as well as present results in a clear and pedagogical manner has good verbal communication skills and enjoys having contact with many different professions and departments. You communicate clearly, adapt your communication to the recipient, and contribute to good collaboration on cases. Qualifications Requirements: relevant education in administration or a degree in molecular life sciences, for example biotechnology, biomedicine, molecular biology, or biochemistry, or other equivalent competence combined with experience in administration experience of coordinating work good proficiency in using computers and various IT systems as work tools good knowledge of Excel or equivalent and experience in compiling and analyzing data ability to compile and present statistics in a clear manner, for example through graphs and other compilations good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing. Meritorious: experience from laboratory operations or work with laboratory information systems (LIS) experience with Sympathy, QlikView, and/or Tableau.
