What does it take behind the scenes to keep railway maintenance running smoothly - every day? As a project engineer, you'll work alongside project managers, project teams, and contractors to monitor and manage our maintenance contracts. This role offers you both breadth in project work and the opportunity to gradually take on responsibility for smaller projects. Work Tasks As a project engineer in railway maintenance in Region West, you'll be part of the project team that manages and monitors our procured maintenance contracts. Together, you'll ensure that work is completed according to agreements and create the right conditions for functional and sustainable railway maintenance. You'll work closely with the project manager and gain broad insight into different aspects of projects - from finance, planning, and monitoring to risk, safety, quality, and work environment. The role involves many contact points and you'll have ongoing dialogue with both the project team and our contractors. In this role, you'll among other things: work with financial monitoring, invoice management, and forecasts monitor project schedules and contribute to planning and progress prepare and participate in meetings with contractors and other stakeholders contribute to work on quality, environment, and work environment structure and administer in our project management systems The role gives you the opportunity to develop your expertise in project management and contract monitoring while gaining broad understanding of how railway maintenance is conducted in practice. Qualifications To succeed in this role, you need to be able to create structure and drive your tasks forward. You take initiative, plan your work, and follow up on what needs to be done. Since you'll work closely with both project teams and contractors, you also need strong collaboration skills. You communicate clearly, listen to different perspectives, and adapt your communication based on situation and audience. When different needs or interests need to be balanced, you work constructively to find solutions that move the work forward. We're looking for someone who: has a university or college degree in economics or engineering subjects of at least 180 hp, or has several years of experience with similar work tasks expresses yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written good computer skills and ability to work in different computer systems good administrative ability It's an advantage if you have: knowledge of construction law at least 1 year of work experience with financial management, risk management, and scheduling in infrastructure projects experience from the railway industry Other Information The employment will be security vetted without placement in a security class.
