Work Tasks We want to expand our team working with Norrbotniabanan with a project engineer. As a project engineer, you will be a close support to the project manager in the overall work with Norrbotniabanan. The role is broad and involves working with technical support, follow-up, coordination, and ongoing project work. You will be an important part in getting the project's many components to function and move forward. You will work with budget tracking, schedules, and risk management, as well as coordinating and following up on consultants and assignments. You plan and administer meetings, prepare materials, and work with filing, permissions, and document distribution. Part of the work involves reviewing and quality-assuring deliverables and materials, as well as coordinating contacts with external parties, such as Trafikverket, industries, and Sámi villages. The role may also include work with GIS and map materials. The role also involves driving defined tasks and following up to ensure activities are completed. You are expected to be able to see what needs to be done, take initiative, and drive the work forward without waiting for detailed instructions at every step. You work closely with the project manager, who has overall responsibility for the project. Therefore, you need to be able to take personal responsibility for your tasks while having the ability to determine when an issue needs to be raised or anchored. Qualifications We are looking for someone with academic education in community development, urban planning, roads and water, surveying, urban design, or other experience that the employer deems relevant. You may be newly graduated or have a few years of experience – what matters is that you have the right drive and interest in developing in the role. We are looking for someone who is structured and has a strong drive. You take responsibility for your tasks and have the ability to see what needs to be done and take the next step on your own. You are thorough and enjoy keeping track of many parallel issues. You have good collaboration skills and find it easy to build good relationships. Since the work involves many contact points, you need to be able to express yourself well in speech and writing and feel comfortable collaborating with both internal and external actors. Experience with project work, community development, infrastructure, or work in a politically governed organization is a merit. Experience working with Trafikverket or another government agency is also a merit. It is an advantage if you have a category B driving license.
