Do you want to be part of developing a safe, sustainable, and energy-efficient production facility where risk management, fire protection, and resource efficiency are an integrated part of operations? We are looking for an engaged and technically driven Project Engineer EHS who wants to play a central role in developing fire protection, process safety, and energy work at our production facilities in Brunna and Uppsala. You will work both strategically and operationally with technical improvements, investments, risk-reducing measures, and development of safety and energy systems. The role involves broad collaboration with production, engineering, maintenance, project organization, management groups, Global EHS, authorities, and external specialists. Duties Fire and Explosion Protection Drive and develop the facility's systematic fire protection work. Responsible for risk assessments related to fire and explosion risks. Participate in the design and implementation of technical fire protection solutions. Ensure that fire protection systems are maintained, verified, and developed according to internal and external requirements. Cooperate with fire services, insurance companies, and external experts. Contribute to the development of emergency preparedness and response coordination. Process Safety and Risk Management Conduct and lead risk analyses in process safety. Participate in risk assessments related to changes, investments, and projects. Support the organization in technical safety and risk-reducing measures. Drive investigations of incidents, deviations, and near-misses and ensure that lessons learned are implemented as improvements. Contribute to developing a safety culture and risk awareness within the organization. Support work with contractor safety and Permit-to-Work processes. Energy and Sustainable Production Drive projects within energy efficiency and energy improvements. Identify opportunities for reduced energy consumption and improved resource efficiency. Propose, evaluate, and implement technical investments in the energy field. Participate in work with energy management systems and monitoring of energy targets. Analyze energy data, monitor KPIs, and identify improvement areas. Cooperate with internal and external specialists in the energy field. Project Management and Technical Development Drive EHS-related investment and improvement projects. Participate in feasibility studies, procurements, and technical investigations. Ensure that EHS requirements are integrated into projects and change work. Evaluate new technical solutions and best practices in fire protection, process safety, and energy. Cooperate with Global EHS and contribute to the implementation of global initiatives. We are looking for someone who has: A university or civil engineering degree in energy, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, process engineering, risk management, or equivalent technical education. At least five years of relevant experience from industrial operations. Experience with technical projects in industry, process industry, or pharmaceutical industry. Experience with risk analyses and technical risk management. Knowledge in fire engineering, process safety, or energy systems. Experience driving improvement or investment projects. Experience analyzing technical data, KPIs, and monitoring. Good ability to collaborate cross-functionally. Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. It is an advantage if you have experience in: Process safety in pharmaceutical, chemical, or process industry. Systematic fire protection work (SBA). Fire technical systems such as sprinklers, fire alarms, or gas detection. Explosion protection and ATEX. Energy efficiency and energy management systems according to ISO 50001. Risk analysis methods such as HAZOP, What-If, or FMEA. Insurance requirements and work with insurance companies. Seveso regulations or other operations with high safety requirements. Project management of CAPEX projects. Emergency preparedness and crisis management. A valid driver's license and access to a car are requirements for the position. About the Position The position is a fixed-term employment on probation that transitions to permanent employment after 6 months by mutual agreement between the parties. The position focuses on operations in Brunna and Uppsala.
