Design Manager Civil Works for Västlänken, Haga Project, Rosenlund Subproject Do you want to contribute to one of Sweden's largest infrastructure projects? We are now seeking an experienced Design Manager Civil Works for Västlänken, Haga Project, Rosenlund Subproject. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating the design of construction documents for both temporary support structures and permanent civil works. The assignment is carried out in close collaboration with project management, design consultants, and contractors with a focus on quality, schedule, budget, and technical feasibility. This is a consulting assignment based in Göteborg. The position is 80-100% full-time and requires physical presence at the project office five days per week. About the Company Trafikverket is responsible for long-term planning of the transport system for road traffic, rail traffic, maritime, and aviation. Västlänken is one of Sweden's largest infrastructure projects and consists of a new railway tunnel under central Göteborg with three new underground stations. About the Role As Design Manager Civil Works, you will be a central part of the project organization within the Rosenlund Subproject. You are responsible for leading the design of complex infrastructure structures, which includes both temporary support structures for deep excavations and permanent civil works such as concrete tunnel and station building for Haga Station. You work in a group of design managers under the guidance of a senior design manager and have close collaboration with consultants, contractors, specialists, and other stakeholders. Role and Responsibilities Plan and lead the design work together with contracted consultants. Be responsible for the design content, progress, and deliverables in consultation with the senior design manager. Lead the design work in collaboration with the contractor to ensure efficient and feasible solutions. Plan, lead, and document design meetings. Identify, analyze, and manage technical issues, interfaces, and critical elements. Participate in the project's risk management. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, legal requirements, and Trafikverket's regulations. Lead review processes and coordinate acceptance inspections and design documentation. Manage interfaces with other subprojects within Haga and other parts of the Västlänken program. Ensure that external stakeholders' requirements and conditions are implemented in the design. Support project and construction management on design matters during the construction phase. Participate in schedule and production planning. Required Qualifications 1. Academic education in civil and construction engineering, such as higher education or civil engineering degree, or other education and experience deemed equivalent. 2. At least 5 years of documented experience in a leading design role in infrastructure projects within the past 10 years. 3. At least 2 years of documented experience in design management in infrastructure projects in urban environments with contract costs exceeding 500 million kronor. 4. Documented experience in occupational health and safety work during the design phase. 5. Good knowledge of Trafikverket's technical regulations including the process for approval of design documentation. 6. Good knowledge of construction contracts and standard agreements such as AB, ABT, ABK, AMA, and MER. 7. Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. 8. Good proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Preferred Qualifications 1. Experience in design management in urban environments where the design included excavations deeper than 12 meters in soft clay and rock with associated support structures. 2. Experience leading and coordinating multidisciplinary design in the production phase of large infrastructure projects. Assignment Information Assignment Period: To commence upon contract signing or by agreement. Extent: 80-100% full-time, approximately 1,700 hours per year. Location: Göteborg. Working Hours: Daytime according to office hours. Workplace: Trafikverket's project office at Rosenlundsgatan in Göteborg. Physical Presence: Five days per week.
