Lund University was founded in 1666 and is consistently ranked as one of the world's leading academic institutions. With approximately 46,000 students and 8,500 employees across Lund, Helsingborg, and Malmö, we are united in our mission to understand, explain, and improve our world and people's conditions. Description of the Workplace Our research group at the Department of Physics, Division of Combustion Physics, focuses on developing optical techniques to study soot and other carbonaceous materials. Soot, formed during incomplete combustion of hydrocarbons, has negative effects on both climate and human health. Detecting soot and thoroughly characterizing its properties is crucial for understanding how it forms and transforms, and ultimately for predicting its impact on the environment and climate. We design, develop, and apply advanced optical techniques to characterize soot at various stages and environments – from laboratory flames to the atmosphere. What We Offer As a state authority, Lund University offers special benefits, generous vacation, and an attractive occupational pension.
