Read more about us at: kau.se/jobb Description The Faculty of Health, Science and Engineering is now announcing a position as project assistant at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science consists of two research fields: mathematics and computer science. The department has over 70 employed researchers and teachers. The mathematics field is responsible for mathematics teaching in many of the university's programs, particularly within engineering and teacher education. The field also offers professional development for teachers in primary and secondary schools. Mathematics is one of the university's research education fields, and our research is conducted in both pure and applied mathematics as well as mathematics didactics. We offer an inspiring workplace with students, staff and visitors from all corners of the world. Duties As a project assistant, you will primarily work on a project focusing on the intersection between mathematics and biology. The project involves identifying cancer dynamics, and your duties will consist of data analysis and interpretation as well as participation in the writing of scientific articles to present the study's research results. You are also expected to contribute with knowledge to deepen the results. To contribute to a good work environment and development of operations, you are expected to be on-site and participate actively in the project. Qualifications Eligible for the position is someone who has completed a doctoral degree in mathematics and who has extensive knowledge of topological data analysis (TDA). Applicants must also be enrolled in a labor market policy program. Another requirement is well-documented experience with scientific programming in MATLAB and/or Python. Particular emphasis will be placed on: Personal qualities. We are looking for someone who is organized, self-directed and capable of working both independently and in collaboration with others. Strong communication skills and the ability to contribute constructively to the research environment. Excellent English skills, both spoken and written. Terms The position is fixed-term for two months on a full-time basis with possible opportunity for extension. Start as soon as possible by agreement.
