Celsiusskolan in Uppsala Municipality is Sweden's largest sports upper secondary school with approximately 1,100 students and a dedicated, experienced teaching staff. We are now seeking a Program Director for the Business Program – a driven leader who wants to be part of developing one of Uppsala's most popular and successful upper secondary schools! As Sweden's largest sports upper secondary school, we offer unique opportunities for students who want to combine their athletic pursuits with a high-quality upper secondary education. We have three college-preparatory programs – Business, Natural Science, and Social Science – and the vocational Sales and Service Program. All our programs can be combined with a sports profile, and our goal is for every student to leave Celsiusskolan with a diploma – and pride in both their academic results and athletic achievements. (https://celsiusskolan.uppsala.se/) Your Assignment As a Program Director, you are part of the school's management team, which together leads and develops all of Celsiusskolan. The management team currently consists of the principal, four program directors, and a manager for athletic operations. You have overall responsibility for the Business Program, which includes personnel, student, and operational responsibility. The role includes both strategic and operational leadership – you lead daily operations, inspire your staff, and create the best conditions for student learning and development. You collaborate with and lead the student support team's work with the program's students to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment. Together with others, you drive development forward – always with the students' best interests in focus. As a manager in Uppsala Municipality, you also receive support from the municipal executive office regarding matters such as finances, HR, communications, work environment/rehabilitation, IT, and facilities. We offer ongoing professional development to support sustainable and quality-assured leadership. Your Background We are looking for someone who combines pedagogical skill with engaging leadership. You are passionate about developing both people and operations – and see opportunities where others see challenges. You have: Experience as an upper secondary school teacher Experience in a leadership role within upper secondary school, for example as a program group leader or equivalent Teacher certification and teaching credentials for upper secondary school Good proficiency using school administrative IT systems Strong ability to communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing It is advantageous if you have: Experience as a school leader within upper secondary school with personnel responsibility (for example, program director or principal) Active participation in systematic quality assurance and work environment initiatives Experience from college-preparatory upper secondary programs Experience from a sports upper secondary school or equivalent Background in sports organizations, preferably in a leadership role Completed or ongoing principal training Completed recruitment training for aspiring school leaders As a leader, you are: Goal- and results-oriented – you plan, follow up, and adjust direction to achieve set objectives.
