About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking additional staff members. As a program leader, you will be part of the program team in Community Corrections Örebro/Karlstad, but you will be based at Kumla Institution where you will perform your daily work. Job Description As an important part of the work to prevent recidivism and work toward the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's vision of "Better Out," extensive program activities are conducted for clients both in groups and individually. Treatment programs are manual-based and delivered with high quality and according to evidence-based practice principles. They are primarily based on cognitive behavioral therapy and social learning theory. At Kumla Institution, programs such as Krimfokus, RVP, Predov, and OTO/Prism are delivered. The diverse program offering means you will simultaneously lead several different programs. The program leader's primary responsibilities are to plan, lead, develop, and follow up on program activities at the institution together with the prison officer and other program leaders. Together with other staff, you are responsible for security and order matters during treatment work. Good collaboration with both other program leaders and institution staff is essential. The position includes administrative tasks in addition to leading programs. Work with clients is carried out from a cognitive perspective. As a program leader, you will conduct group treatment with a number of inmates with emphasis on group process. You will also have individual sessions as part of the treatment. Qualifications We are seeking someone who is secure, stable, and has self-awareness. You have the ability to communicate clearly and work well with others. In stressful situations, you remain calm and have the ability to make sound judgments and prioritize appropriately. You have a good understanding of how people acquire knowledge and adapt your way of conveying messages based on the recipient's conditions. You should also have a physical condition that enables you to act physically if the situation requires it. We are seeking someone who has: An academic degree with a behavioral science focus, or alternatively another academic degree combined with experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service considers relevant Strong knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written Class B driver's license It is advantageous if you have: Training/certification in Swedish Prison and Probation Service treatment programs Other training with a treatment focus that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service considers relevant Client-facing experience within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service Other client-facing work experience within care and treatment or social work Experience working with CBT-based interventions Relevant language skills beyond Swedish and English Terms Working hours: Daytime Monday–Friday.
