We are seeking a Program Manager Flight Systems, also serving as Technical Area Representative (TAR), with experience and strong commitment to contribute to our work in the flight systems area. About the position In this role, you will participate in FMV's Research and Technical Development (FoT) and R&D within the Air and Space Materiel business area. The role includes, among other things, maintaining contact with civil actors in R&D matters such as financiers, universities, colleges, research institutes and companies, as well as participating in the Swedish Armed Forces' preparation groups for FoT on behalf of flight systems. You will also collaborate with the FoT chair and corresponding roles at the total defense research institutes (FOI, research area representative (FOF)) and the Swedish Armed Forces University College (FHS). In your day-to-day work, you are responsible for ensuring that operations are conducted in accordance with the objectives in the Swedish Armed Forces' FoT plan, that deliveries are achieved on schedule and within budget and agreed quality, and together with the unit manager, ensuring that available resources meet necessary needs. Furthermore, this role supports sub-area managers and project leaders active within FoT flight systems in the development, evaluation, analysis and reporting of projects and associated documents, and leads the coordination and direction of relevant technical areas regarding national development and international collaborations. In your role, you also support the Air and Space Materiel business area, research and development area coordinator (OSF) air and FMV Main R&D Coordinator (HSF) in coordination, direction and planning work of FMV's R&D activities. Additionally, this role maintains and develops contacts for national and international collaborations within the aviation field. A natural part of the role is also to contribute with knowledge transfer and to participate in civil and military forums within technical development and research. The position is located in Stockholm. About you We are looking for someone with a civil engineering degree or higher academic degree in aeronautical engineering, technical physics or mechanical/materials engineering, or equivalent competence acquired in other ways that is deemed equivalent. You also have experience working with issues related to development and function in the aviation field, as well as experience working with complex and strategic issues at the technical level. Additionally, you have experience leading projects with subordinate project members and experience from the defense research field. Other knowledge requirements that this role places on you are good knowledge of the Office package as well as good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing. It is considered meritorious if you also have research training or a doctorate in aeronautical engineering, technical physics, mechanical/materials engineering or related technical field, or equivalent competence acquired in other ways that is deemed equivalent. Experience in negotiations, knowledge of FMV and the Swedish Armed Forces' organization and working methods are also considered meritorious, as is knowledge of public procurement.
