The Department of Culture and Media Studies is part of Umeå University's Faculty of Humanities and has approximately 70 employees. Description and Responsibilities The position includes research, teaching, supervision, seminar leadership, collaboration, and administrative work. The employment also includes 30% faculty-funded research. The professor is expected to initiate research projects and actively seek research funding, preferably in collaboration with other researchers, and to broadly contribute to the continued development of the subject area and the department. Qualifications for Employment as Professor To be eligible for employment as a Professor of Literary Studies, a person must have demonstrated both scientific and pedagogical competence within the field of literary studies (Chapter 4, Section 3 of the Higher Education Ordinance). Very good language skills in Swedish and English, as well as the ability to teach at all educational levels in these languages, are required for the position.
