Engagement If you are ready for new challenges, willing to apply your knowledge and experience, gain professional experience in state administration, and contribute to strengthening public safety in Latvia, you are invited to join the State Probation Service team by applying for the position of probation specialist at the Jūrmala Department of the Riga West Region territorial unit (1 vacancy for an indefinite period) Main duties: Supervise conditionally sentenced persons, persons conditionally released before serving their full sentence, persons conditionally released from criminal liability, and persons subject to probation supervision (including personal monitoring and organization of social support, including visits to probation clients at their residence during nighttime hours together with colleagues); Organize execution of the criminal sentence of community service and enforcement of educational compulsory measures of community service; Prepare assessment reports upon request from the court, prosecutor, or prison administration; Manage probation programs; Organize and participate in inter-institutional meetings; Prepare submissions to court and represent the State Probation Service in court. Requirements for candidates: Compliance with the requirements of Section 7 of the State Civil Service Law; Higher academic or second-level professional higher education; Good cooperation and communication skills; Knowledge of document management issues; Understanding of criminal sentence enforcement matters; Good Latvian language skills in both speaking and writing; Ability to use information and communication technology; Ethics, client orientation, analytical thinking, independence, results-oriented approach; Desirable: Category B driving license.
