The Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (TIMN) is one of six departments at the Faculty of Engineering Sciences. Teaching is conducted in AI, electrical engineering, signal processing, sensor systems, mathematics, physics, and chemistry. The Civil Engineering Program in Marine Technology and the Master's Program in Machine Learning, Sensors and Systems fall within the department's area of responsibility. The department is responsible for doctoral education in systems engineering and mathematics with applications. Job Description This position is part of the regional initiative in marine technology in Blekinge and at BTH. The work takes place in close collaboration with companies and organizations in Blekinge, particularly in the Karlskrona area. Research is conducted at the Faculty of Engineering Sciences, within the subject of systems engineering, and forms part of the joint initiative. Special focus is placed on secure and resilient communications, positioning, and sensor systems for marine vessels and platforms. The work includes planning and conducting research and experiments, building experimental setups and prototypes, measuring with sensors and data collection in the marine environment under field conditions. The work also includes analysis of marine communications, positioning, sensor, and cyber-physical systems, with particular focus on resilience, vulnerabilities, and protection against interference and manipulation. The postdoctoral researcher is also expected to support the research group and provide knowledge support related to marine projects. The position primarily involves research and development (at least 80%), which is largely conducted in close collaboration with companies and authorities. Teaching and/or other departmental work may be included up to 20%. Qualification Requirements To be eligible for employment as a postdoctoral researcher, you must have completed a doctoral degree or have a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a doctoral degree. This qualification requirement must be met by the time the employment decision is made. Priority will be given to those who completed their degree no more than three years before the application deadline. Those who completed their degree earlier may also be considered if there are special circumstances. Special circumstances are defined as leave due to illness, parental leave, clinical service, positions of trust within trade union organizations, or other similar circumstances.
