Description The City Environment Administration employs approximately 1,000 people with overall responsibility for Gothenburg's public spaces and collective accessibility. The Administration is responsible for places that residents use and visit every day. As one of the city's four city development administrations, it works collectively on the city's sustainability. The Outdoor Environments and City Life Department is responsible for managing, maintaining, and developing the city's green and public spaces, such as forests, trees, nature, lakes and waterways, as well as parks, bathing areas, playgrounds, splash pads, outdoor recreation facilities, public art, and a zoo. The Department also works with place development, for example summer streets and summer and winter squares, and is responsible for permits for public spaces, market trading, and other usage agreements. Additionally, the Department handles traffic coordination for major events, unauthorized use of city land, and collaboration in safety and place development efforts. Duties The role involves strategic and coordinating work with the development and management of the city's playgrounds and other activity areas, such as outdoor gyms and dog parks. You work to create continuity in the work from overall planning to daily operations and collaborate with different competencies within the Administration. The work is varied and involves many contact points, where you will have the opportunity to develop the city's outdoor environments and contribute to creating active and stimulating environments for Gothenburg residents. You will, among other things: Coordinate and ensure continuity in work with playgrounds and other activity areas, from planning to daily operations. Develop guiding and supporting documents for long-term development and management of playgrounds and other activity areas. Support responsible managers by coordinating work and developing supporting processes and working methods. Participate in working groups as an expert in playgrounds and other activity areas and manage your own development projects. Collaborate with project managers, operations staff, and other competencies within the Administration. Represent the Administration in matters concerning playgrounds and other activity areas in collaboration with other administrations and external partners. Qualifications We are looking for someone with experience in managing playgrounds and other activity areas who enjoys working strategically and coordinatively. You have the ability to see the bigger picture, create structure, and drive issues forward in collaboration with different competencies and stakeholders. The role also requires that you can develop working methods and implement strategic perspectives into functioning operational work. We are looking for someone who has: A master's degree in landscape architecture, urban planning, or another degree that the employer deems equivalent. 3–5 years of experience working with management of playgrounds and activity areas. It is an advantage if you have: Experience in building and developing new and efficient working methods together with others. Experience working in politically governed organizations. Experience working with GIS programs, for example MapInfo or QGIS. As a person, you take responsibility and drive independent work forward. You are organized and have the ability to plan, coordinate, and create order. You are development-oriented and see opportunities for improvement, while also having the ability to see the bigger picture.
