Description / About me and my everyday
I am an 18-year-old boy who lives with my parent. I have autism, intellectual disability, epilepsy and outwardly directed behavior, which means I have dual assistance around the clock.
I am a happy boy who enjoys, among other things, doing puzzles, listening to music on my phone, watching TV, going out for walks in the fresh air, etc.
On a daily basis, I attend an adapted upper secondary school and a few days each month I live in short-term housing. My personal assistants accompany me both to school and to the short-term housing.
Now I'm looking for you who want to work as a personal assistant and give me the support I need to have a safe and meaningful everyday life.
Common work tasks for you as a personal assistant
As a personal assistant, you work closely with the user and provide support in different life situations.
Since the user has no verbal speech, you need to be able to support and help him communicate with his surroundings. The work also includes support with personal hygiene, meal preparation and household chores at home.
As a personal assistant, you also need to document how the assistance has worked and participate in work with implementation plans and routines, so that the user receives their support in the desired and decided manner.
The role includes participating in meetings with the employer and colleagues to ensure that the assistance maintains good quality and is based on the user's needs and wishes.
Since the work is performed together with another personal assistant, good cooperation is an important part of the work.
To be able to work with me, you need to:
have turned 18 years old
have experience working in LSS and/or personal assistance
have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
have experience working with people with autism, intellectual disability and/or epilepsy
have experience working with people with outwardly directed behavior
be able to apply low-affective approach in theory and practice
It is meritorious if you have:
care assistant education or other relevant education in health and care
experience with alternative and augmentative communication (AAC)
experience working with people who need dual assistance
experience following and working based on individual implementation plans and routines
You are offered
A meaningful and varied job with good opportunities for personal development. You will receive a thorough introduction, support from close leadership and the tools you need to succeed in your role.
Do you recognize yourself? Don't hesitate to submit an application immediately. Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.
