We are looking for you to take on an important role – to be a personal assistant for a man in his 70s who lives with a spinal cord injury, uses a wheelchair, and lives in Norrtälje. Sports and woodworking are major interests, as are cooking, crafts, interior design, and plants in the home.
This is a role where presence, attentiveness, and responsibility are crucial. You will work closely with him and tailor your support based on his needs, condition, and wishes. As a personal assistant, you will become part of a small circle around him, where continuity and trust are in focus. Your contribution enables him to live his life according to his own circumstances and maintain as much independence as possible.
The work includes everything from personal care, intimate hygiene, transfers, use of various assistive devices, help with activities, and more. The workplace is in his home and wherever he may be. Working hours are scheduled for both daytime and evening, as well as one weekend per month. We would appreciate it if you could also work with short notice when needed, due to illness or similar situations.
Since you will be part of a team of personal assistants selected by and for your specific client, it is therefore important to have good work ethic where everyone supports each other and can work with short notice when needed due to illness or similar. You need to be available during summer and vacation periods.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We would appreciate it if you have a flexible and independent work style and can easily adapt to new situations. You must be able to take responsibility as you work according to the individual's needs. You should have good competence in documentation and maintain a professional approach. You should have a genuine interest in and passion for caring for people.
Other qualities that are valuable in this job are a good sense of humor, calmness, patience, and being responsible. You must be able to speak fluent Swedish as this is a job where good communication is very important. It is a great asset if you have experience working in personal assistance.
Because we care about our clients' safety and well-being, we have the routine of obtaining an extract from the criminal record register for all people employed by the company. This means that upon hiring, we will request a register extract from you before you start working.
