We are looking for you to take on an important role – to be a personal assistant for a man in his 70s who lives with a spinal cord injury, uses a wheelchair, and lives in Norrtälje. Sports and carpentry are major interests, as well as cooking and crafts, interior design, and plants in the home.
This is a role where presence, attentiveness, and responsibility are crucial. You will work closely with him and adapt your support based on his needs, daily condition, and wishes. As a personal assistant, you will become part of a small circle around him, where continuity and trust are in focus. Your contribution enables him to live his life according to his own circumstances and maintain as much independence as possible.
The work includes everything from personal care, intimate hygiene, transfers, use of various aids, assistance with activities, etc. The workplace is in his home and wherever he may be. Working hours are scheduled for both daytime and evening, as well as one weekend per month. We would appreciate it if you could also work with short notice when needed, due to illness or similar circumstances.
Since you will be part of a team of personal assistants selected by and for this particular user, it is important to have good work ethic where everyone supports each other and can work with short notice when needed, due to illness or similar circumstances. You need to be available during summer and vacation periods.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We would like you to have a flexible and independent work style and be able to easily adapt to new situations. You must be able to take responsibility as you work according to the individual's needs. You should have good competence in documentation and maintain a professional approach. You should have a genuine interest and feeling for caring for people.
Other qualities that are good for the job are a good sense of humor, calmness, patience, and being responsible. You should be able to speak fluent Swedish as this is a job where good communication is very important. It is a great merit if you have experience working as a personal assistant.
