Do you want to become part of a growing regiment on an island that offers both opportunities and challenges? We are recruiting soldiers for our Training Battalion. We have many positions available for you who have completed basic training and want employment on Gotland as a soldier. How about diving deep into communications systems so the regiment can communicate with each other during exercises and war? Become a driver of a grenade launcher armored personnel carrier? Work for a year or two as an instructor in basic training before it's time to pursue officer training? We are recruiting soldiers and squad leaders for all three of our companies, including instructors for conscripts in many different specializations, communications systems soldiers, riflemen, vehicle crews for several different vehicle systems, staff assistants and more. About the Unit Gotlands Regiment was re-established in 2018 to strengthen the Swedish Armed Forces' presence on this strategically important island. Since 2020, we have trained conscripts. We are gradually being assigned more and more capabilities. Today we have around 400 employees and continue to grow every year. During 2026, over 300 conscripts have enlisted. The regimental area is located at Tofta range but placement may vary/expand. The Training Battalion is the regiment's largest unit and is responsible for conscript training. The battalion consists mainly of three companies; Roma (armored riflemen), Havdhem (communications/command) and Tingstäde (function). Main Responsibilities Working as a soldier (GSS/K) involves training, maintenance, participating in exercises and live operations. Your employment may involve readiness that can last several consecutive days or over longer periods. The position places demands on both your physical and mental performance capacity, which is why training is part of your daily routine. You can also read more about working as a soldier at forsvarsmakten.se Qualifications Completed military basic training with approved grades (At least JA-2-2) Meets the Swedish Armed Forces' physical requirements (11:30 on 2 km run and 175p multitest) Meritorious Category B driver's license Military vehicle operator certification Approved training within the Swedish Armed Forces Personal Qualities Proactive, especially regarding your own development in the form of training and education Good ability to handle both stressful situations and waiting Prestigious and enjoys exploring new solutions Good ability to work in a group and independently Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Full-time position. Work-related travel occurs, primarily within Sweden. Since activities can take place outside regular working hours, working hours may be shifted to evenings/nights and weekends.
