Learn more at soyagroup.com 1 position(s). Wallenius Marine is seeking a Chief Officer for the vessel Turandot. Turandot is a classic Ro-Ro vessel that operates in various parts of the world and consists of a great team onboard. Turandot operates on charter for Japanese Seven Seals. About the Position The role of Chief Officer onboard Turandot is developmental, varied, and fast-paced. You will work closely with other nautical officers and be responsible for ensuring that safety, efficiency, and quality are pursued onboard. As the second-highest ranking officer after the Captain, you as Chief Officer will be important to the vessel in general and its daily operations. Examples of work tasks in the role: • Supervise the deck crew and daily work onboard • Plan and oversee loading, unloading, and cargo securing • Responsible for vessel safety, life-saving and fire equipment • Stand navigation watch and assist the Captain • Ensure that regulations, procedures, and safety requirements are followed Onboard Turandot, both Filipino and Swedish crew members work. Since we have a mixed crew, we speak English onboard. Terms • The position is a permanent employment, beginning with a standard probationary period • Contract length: approximately 8 weeks (often longer) • Start date by agreement. Requirements Requirements for the position are: • Chief Officer certification • Valid certificates and credentials for the position in accordance with STCW Manila • Good English skills – ability to express yourself in both speech and writing Meritorious qualifications and personal traits It is meritorious if you: • Have previous experience from similar Ro-Ro vessels • Have previous work experience in the role of Chief Officer You are a positive person who is self-driven, takes initiative, and is a confident leader with drive and stimulation from new challenges.
