Then a summer substitute position as a care assistant in the ambulance service in Region Örebro län might be for you. As a care assistant, you will have the opportunity to work in prehospital care and meet patients of all ages with many different care needs. You will work alongside an experienced nurse or ambulance nurse and become part of the ambulance healthcare service during the summer. Ambulance healthcare involves varied work where conditions can change quickly. Therefore, we are looking for someone who already has experience in patient-centered work and who wants to use and develop your knowledge in a new care environment. Duties As a care assistant, you work together with a nurse or ambulance nurse and participate according to your competence and role in patient care. You contribute to nursing care, practical tasks, and safe and professional patient encounters. The work also involves handling equipment, vehicles, and practical tasks related to daily operations alongside your colleagues. You will meet patients of different ages, life situations, and care needs. Work takes place in patients' homes, public places, accident sites, and during transport to or between healthcare facilities. The position is a summer substitute during summer 2027. Introduction takes place as hourly-paid employment before the summer substitute position begins. You apply to the ambulance service in Region Örebro län as a whole. Placement is made according to operational needs and can be within different parts of the ambulance service. Working hours vary based on placement and operational needs and include day, evening, night, and weekend shifts. Qualifications To be considered for employment as a care assistant, you must: be studying to become a nurse and have completed at least term 5 before summer 2027 have previous documented experience working in healthcare have a valid driving license (category B) and be able to swim (200 meters). Previous healthcare experience is a requirement for this position. To be considered for employment, you also need to pass the tests included in our recruitment process. Ambulance healthcare is conducted in teams, and it is essential that you appreciate and value teamwork. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and are looking for someone who is responsible, confident when meeting patients, and has strong ability to cooperate and communicate in Swedish. You also need to understand your own role and competence, be able to ask for support when needed, and be receptive to guidance and feedback. Before your summer substitute position, you will receive an introduction that prepares you for work in the service, including training and supervised on-the-job training. The introduction gives you the opportunity to learn about the ambulance service's working methods, equipment, routines, and the role of care assistant. Application To work as a care assistant in the ambulance service, you must complete and pass the components included in our recruitment process. The recruitment process includes an interview, physical test, and driving test. To be considered for the summer substitute position, you need to be able to attend one of our test days: October 14, November 4, November 5, November 26, December 9, December 11, December 16. Your application should include a CV and cover letter, as well as a study certificate showing your current education and term. Your application should clearly state any previous experience you have working in healthcare. Other relevant certificates are attached if necessary. About the Service The ambulance service in Region Örebro län includes emergency ambulances, light care ambulances, and Regional Nurses at the Emergency Call Center (RSLC). The service is distributed throughout the county with main stations in Örebro, Karlskoga, and Lindesberg, plus associated satellite stations. Together, we staff the county's ambulance healthcare 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
