Within the Education Office, we focus on children's and young people's development and learning. We view the individual from a 0-20 year perspective and base our work on children's and young people's individual conditions and needs. Now we are looking for a skilled and solution-focused area director who wants to continue influencing and developing Norrköping's preschools! Your responsibilities As area director, you have overall responsibility for education in area three, which you lead and develop through the principals who report to you. Area three comprises Klockaretorpet, Skarphagen, Skärblacka, and Vilbergen, with 21 preschools. You lead 11 skilled principals for whom you create conditions to take responsibility in their principal role, and you ensure that workplace environment and quality work is conducted systematically. You lead the area's management team with principals and ensure that education is conducted based on the preschool's governing documents. You are also responsible for ensuring that education and learning outcomes develop in line with the development plan and assignment plan. You are responsible for your area's financial results, allocate resources for increased equity, and ensure that operations are conducted with optimal and coordinated resource utilization. You are part of a driven and professional management group with three other area directors led by the Chief of Preschools. Together, you lead, shape, and develop education within the operational area. As area director, you act as the municipality's representative to ensure that school regulations and other governing documents are followed. You have many different contact points and collaborate with internal support functions and external partners, and contribute to good cooperation with labor organizations. Who are you? We are looking for someone who is action-oriented, communicative, and enjoys meeting people. You have high capacity and see it as obvious to focus on opportunities and new solutions. You feel great commitment to developing preschools and enjoy both working independently and in teams. As a person, you are secure, stable, and unpretentious. You enjoy open and honest communication and have an easy time creating and developing positive relationships with others. You are flexible, skilled at prioritizing, and easily adapt to changing circumstances. You have a teaching or preschool teacher education, or alternatively another university degree with a pedagogical focus, and experience working as a principal. You have both interest and understanding of finances and budgeting, and have demonstrated good financial results in your role as school leader. Furthermore, you have completed the principal program and are well versed in preschool governing documents. We view it positively if you have experience managing managers. As a leader, you apply trust-based leadership and have confidence that your employees have the knowledge, judgment, and will to carry out their work in the best way without detailed control. Your most important task is to create conditions based on needs in the interaction between staff and those we exist to serve.
