Predict laser damage threshold (LIDT) and failure mechanisms using advanced theoretical models. Design and evaluate experiments utilizing AFM, SEM/TEM, SIMS, XPS, XRD, and LEIS methods. Define and optimize manufacturing procedures for optical components. Lead continuous improvement of polishing, cleaning, coating application, and optical contacting processes.
