We are prepared to do what it takes, even in the most difficult situations. The Swedish Armed Forces Cyber Defense is now seeking an experienced Network Technician. We are looking for someone who is curious about, or already passionate about, networks and IT security and who wants to develop professionally. About the Position In this role, you will work with development, management, and configuration of all commonly occurring network components – and some that are less common. As a natural part of the work, monitoring the external environment is included, and it is important that you stay updated on the latest technologies in network infrastructure. Your main responsibilities: Manage networks in a security-classified IT environment Work broadly with network components such as switches, routers, and firewalls across both WAN and LAN and in data centers Contribute to developing and maintaining our IT environment Develop new design solutions and implement them Work continuously with operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting Qualifications At least five years of experience in network operations, primarily with Cisco-based products Advanced knowledge and experience with switches, routers, and firewalls Experience with both physical and virtual network infrastructure Experience with installation and configuration of networks and network components Good knowledge of Linux and Windows Academic education or knowledge acquired through relevant work experience Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English Meritorious Design of network infrastructure, physical and in virtualization environments Experience with automation Infrastructure as code Configuration of encrypted connections Network traffic monitoring Intrusion detection Programming and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) Experience with and knowledge of the Swedish Armed Forces' signal protection systems and IT systems Personal Qualifications We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. Employment with us involves placement in a security classification. Usually, Swedish citizenship is required.
