Read more: www.lansstyrelsen.se/blekinge Description Do you want to work to preserve and develop Blekinge's biological diversity? We are looking for a committed employee for the Nature Unit. Our unit has 20 employees who are responsible for establishing and managing nature reserves, implementing action programs for endangered species, working with outdoor recreation, wildlife management and running Naturum in Brunnsparken in Ronneby. Duties As a nature conservation officer, you will have an important role in developing and implementing nature conservation work in Blekinge. You will primarily work with project management, action programs for endangered species and restoration of nature and habitats. A central task is to lead and coordinate nature conservation projects, from funding applications to implementation and follow-up. This could include EU-financed Life projects where you plan and coordinate activities, manage timelines and budgets, collaborate with project partners and monitor implemented measures. You will also have a coordinating role for action programs for endangered species (ÅGP). You will identify the need for nature conservation measures, prioritize initiatives, plan and commission measures, and follow up on results. The work is conducted in close cooperation with landowners, municipalities, contractors, associations and other stakeholders. In the coming years, a large part of the nature conservation work will be characterized by implementing the EU Regulation on Nature Restoration. You will be involved in this work. Administrative tasks include follow-ups, report writing and documentation as well as responses to referrals and statements on decisions. In individual cases, you may need to work evenings and weekends. Qualifications We are looking for you who have: University/college education in natural sciences, for example biology, ecology, environmental science or other education that we consider equivalent Experience working with nature conservation Good knowledge of biological diversity, species and habitats Experience planning, implementing and following up on nature conservation measures Driver's license (Category B) It is meritorious if you also have: Experience leading projects and driving processes – from planning to implementation and follow-up Experience working with action programs for endangered species (ÅGP) Experience in nature restoration Personal Qualities To succeed in this role, you need to be organized, action-oriented and comfortable independently driving work forward. You enjoy taking responsibility for keeping assignments and projects on track while finding it easy to collaborate and build good relationships. Your ability to cooperate both internally and externally is very important for this role. You need to be receptive and have the ability to build trust even when different interests need to be weighed against each other. You can adapt your communication to different target groups and create engagement and provide opportunities for various stakeholders to participate in and implement nature conservation measures. The work involves situations where conditions sometimes change and multiple assignments need to be handled in parallel. You need to be flexible, solution-oriented and results-focused without losing structure and quality. Thoroughness and good administrative skills are important.
