The Organization The Growth and Attractiveness Department is part of the Support and Development Administration. The department's mission is to create conditions for long-term and sustainable growth, a strong business community, and an attractive municipality to live and work in. The focus is to coordinate, initiate, and drive strategically important development issues for Gällivare Municipality. The department currently has approximately 20 employees and also includes communications, which plays a key role in strengthening the municipality's brand both internally and externally. A historic societal transformation is currently taking place in the mining area, where both Gällivare and Kiruna municipalities are adapting for the future. This presents major opportunities but also important challenges – and makes the role of department manager for Growth and Attractiveness particularly significant. Here you will become a key person in strengthening the Gällivare Municipality brand as an attractive employer, business environment, and place to live. Responsibilities As Business & Communications Manager / Department Manager for Growth and Attractiveness, you are responsible for: lead, develop, and coordinate the department's operations, including operational, personnel, and financial responsibility build and maintain strong relationships with the business community in Gällivare as well as with municipalities and actors throughout Norrbotten actively contribute to strengthening the Gällivare Municipality brand – both internally and externally initiate and drive strategic development projects that strengthen growth and attractiveness collaborate internally within the organization and externally with companies, authorities, associations, and other partners. Qualifications We are looking for a strategic and communicative leader who is passionate about societal development. As a person, you are relationship-oriented and have a strong ability to build long-term collaborations. You can see the bigger picture and switch between strategic issues and operational initiatives. We believe you have: relevant higher education, for example in political science, social sciences, economics, law, media and communication science, or equivalent good knowledge of the public sector and politically governed organizations experience of collaboration with the business community, preferably in a regional or municipal context experience of running your own business previous management experience with personnel responsibility interest in brand building and communication matters.
