Rezekne Municipality Public Institution "Culture and Tourism Administration" (Reg. No. 40900040015) announces an open competition for a vacant museum director position in the structural unit "Malta History Museum" (1 full-time position; permanent)

Main duties of the museum director:
manage museum operations, plan and organize employee task fulfillment;
lead the development and implementation of the museum's strategic, collection, research and communication policies;
organize and manage the museum's collection development, inventory, preservation, research, digitalization and accessibility;
lead the museum's research, educational, communications and public engagement work;
organize the development and implementation of exhibitions, displays, educational programs, events and other museum activities;
ensure museum project development, funding acquisition, project implementation and monitoring;
ensure professional development of museum staff, knowledge and experience transfer in museum sector, cultural heritage and collection management matters;
organize cooperation with museums, educational institutions, scientific institutes, state and municipal institutions;
prepare museum activity plans, reports, budget requests and development proposals;
represent the museum in professional organizations, cooperation networks and public events;
ensure compliance with regulatory acts, museum sector standards and professional ethics requirements.
Position candidates must meet the following requirements:
higher education, preferably in history or cultural heritage specialization;
knowledge of regulatory acts governing museum operations and collection management;
ability to develop museum development, collection, research and communication strategies;
ability to develop and manage projects;
ability to consult and provide methodological guidance to specialists;
ability to analyze information, prepare reports and development planning documents;
state language proficiency at the highest level;
good digital skills and ability to work with office software;
must have a valid electronic signature (eID or eParaksts mobile).
Base salary: EUR 980.00 during the probation period. After probation – according to assessment.

The competition is organized in two rounds. In the first round, the competition commission evaluates the documents submitted by position candidates and their compliance with qualification requirements.
