We at Kumlaby Adapted Primary School are seeking a teacher in music. We are currently working on our prioritized development area, which is to enhance the quality of instruction. We work in teams because we believe that everyone who works with us has something to contribute. Right now we are developing a new approach where we work more based on each teacher's specific expertise and utilize it by having instruction take place in a broader context. Examples of this include thematic approaches where multiple subjects and student groups are combined. By working together, we can create the best conditions for our students. As a teacher, you contribute your specific knowledge and experience. This way we can utilize all employees' abilities and knowledge to create new opportunities for students to develop. 1 position(s). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES All our students have an intellectual disability, and we are therefore seeking you to teach this target group. To offer students individual development, we work with continuous follow-up so that we can challenge each individual in the best way. This includes conducting instruction based on both the standard primary school curriculum and the adapted primary school curriculum. We focus on the students' life perspective and our goal is to give our students useful experiences and insights. Communication, structure, and clarity are important guiding principles in our operations. So that you as a teacher can carry out your assignment, it is important that you do not feel alone. We have therefore built up student support services with enhanced expertise in the form of a speech-language pathologist. Student support services work closely with our operations, prioritizing guidance and preventive work. QUALIFICATIONS For this position, it is important that you have an interest in and commitment to this target group. We are seeking you who have knowledge of music and can play one or more instruments. We want you to have knowledge of what intellectual disability entails. It is advantageous if you have previously worked in adapted primary schools, or alternatively with students on the autism spectrum, and have knowledge of AAC. Being positive, engaged, and flexible, as well as having the ability to think innovatively, are qualities we highly value. You have good collaboration skills and a positive and professional approach toward students, parents, and colleagues. You should be curious about students' different ways of thinking, learning, and understanding, and see their individual needs as a challenge. The work requires good collaboration skills as you work together in daily work with students to plan activities and work together with the students, which in turn places great demands on clear and responsive communication with each other. For this position, we are seeking you to work part-time, 40%, on Mondays and Fridays. The position is limited until Christmas with the possibility of extension during the spring term. Great weight is placed on personal suitability. An excerpt from the criminal record register will be requested. We warmly welcome your application! Employment type: Limited-term employment.
