Located in the heart of Husum, a short walk from the train station, Husumskolan is a grades 7-9 school with approximately 315 students from preschool through grade 9. We are now seeking an engaged and confident music teacher for grades 4–9 for a temporary position during the fall term, comprising 80-100%.
For those new to the profession, Örnsköldsviks Municipality offers an introduction program for new teachers that provides you with a mentor during your first year. Your mentor is an experienced teacher with the same subject credentials who can guide and support you.
Responsibilities
As a music teacher with us, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on music instruction for students in grades 4–9. You create instruction that stimulates students' creativity, musical development, and desire to express themselves through music.
The assignment includes:
Planning, implementing, and following up on instruction based on applicable curriculum guidelines,
creating a safe, creative, and inclusive learning environment with clear structure and study conditions,
and assessing and monitoring students' knowledge development,
Adapting instruction based on the group's and individual student's needs and prerequisites,
varying instruction and teaching methods based on students' age, maturity, and prior experience.
Collaborating with colleagues within the work team and other school staff, and participating in the school's collective work on student learning and development.
Responsible for documentation and contacts related to the teaching assignment.
Mentorship may be included in the assignment, which involves responsibility for a student group as well as contact and collaboration with guardians.
Qualifications
We are seeking someone with a teaching degree and subject credentials in music for grades 4–9.
You are a confident adult and clear leader in the classroom with the ability to create structure, context, and positive relationships. You have a professional approach and view relationships as an important foundation for student learning and development.
We would appreciate it if you have experience in music instruction at the primary school level and broad musical competence. Experience leading group processes and adapting instruction to different students' needs and prerequisites is a merit.
As a person, you are engaged, responsible, and solution-oriented. You enjoy being challenged, like to think creatively, and have the ability to see differences and diversity as an asset in your teaching. You enjoy collaborating and actively contribute to a professional and collegial work environment.
