We are seeking a part-time museum guide with exhibition experience for weekend work, primarily Sundays during fall/winter. Period: October – January 2027 Application Deadline: September 20 Employment Type: Fixed-term employment at approximately 16% (primarily Sundays each week) with possibility of extension. About the Museum's Operations Sweden's Museum of the Holocaust is one of Sweden's newest museums. The museum focuses, among other things, on testimonies from Holocaust survivors, a specific part of Sweden's cultural heritage. We strive to be a place characterized by care, responsibility, and openness, where visitors will want to return and visit us multiple times. Job Responsibilities As a museum guide at Sweden's Museum of the Holocaust, you have a central role in meeting visitors. In a new and inspiring work environment, you provide hospitality and, together with your colleagues on the team, are the face of the museum. As a fixed-term museum guide, you lead general tours of our exhibitions and work at the entrance and gift shop. You work alongside other hospitality staff and security personnel. You answer questions about the exhibition and the museum's digital resources, about Holocaust history in general, and provide information about the museum's operations and our partner organizations. You handle cash and actively work with gift shop sales. It also includes making rounds through the museum's premises to ensure everything is clean, orderly, informative, and safe. The work is varied and involves meeting visitors in both Swedish and English. As a museum guide, you also have an active role in the museum's evacuation procedures. Working hours according to established schedule, primarily Sundays; possibility to work additional hours on other weekdays may occur. Qualifications Experience in hospitality and giving guided tours/or teaching. Experience with cash handling, shop display, and handling visitor surveys. Good knowledge of Swedish and English, and preferably a third language. Meritorious: Education in history or equivalent. Personal Qualities We place great importance on your personal qualities, your judgment, and previous experience with similar tasks. Good references from previous employers are important. You are passionate about knowledge sharing and service and have a strong ability to put our visitors first. You show great commitment and willingly take initiative to solve problems that arise. You also have a good ability to listen, see each visitor, and understand the importance of welcoming hospitality. Your collaboration skills are strong and you are happy to help with various practical tasks. You handle problems and use new experiences to improve preparedness and procedures together with your colleagues. The position involves giving tours and answering visitor questions about the museum's area of operations and our collection mandate. Therefore, it is important that you have, or acquire, knowledge of the entire museum's operations and can represent the organization well.
