JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a substitute in adapted primary school, you are the student's helping hand to achieve learning goals and serve as a link between the classroom teacher and the student. You provide support to students that creates a meaningful school day based on each individual student's own abilities.
You will actively participate in the adapted primary school and after-school care program and work with students who have many different functional variations, both intellectual and physical, such as autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, epilepsy, and challenging behaviors.
In your work, you will use various types of physical aids to help students train their bodies, assist with dressing and undressing, toilet visits, and during mealtimes. You will support and guide students in teaching and other activities during the school and after-school day.
Since the operation requires continuity, you need to be able to work 3-5 days per week Monday-Friday. The work day starts early in the morning. Standard time is 07:00 but we have shifts starting as early as 06:00.
QUALIFICATIONS
To work as an hourly substitute in adapted primary school with us, you need:
• A valid criminal background check!
• Ability to understand, speak, read, and write Swedish
• Basic computer skills
• Completed upper secondary education
• Be at least 18 years old
It is advantageous if you have training in the field, such as student assistant, support assistant, nursing assistant, personal assistant, etc. Experience working in schools or healthcare and social services is also advantageous.
Personally, you show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role and adapt your communication based on the recipient, target group, and situation. You listen to other people in order to understand their needs and have the ability to work together with others to carry out tasks and achieve goals. Finally, you take responsibility for your own and shared work tasks with the users' best interests in focus.
