JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a mother tongue teacher and study guide, you support students in their language and knowledge development using their mother tongue, and act as a cultural and linguistic bridge. You do this, among other things, through close collaboration with the student's mentor and teaching teachers. You conduct high-quality instruction and have an inclusive approach. You will work with students of different ages. The position may be based at one or more school units. The position includes • planning mother tongue instruction based on the curriculum in the mother tongue subject • planning study guidance based on student and subject needs • planning your instruction in collaboration with subject teachers, mentors, and other educational staff so that it meets the student's individual needs • using digital tools for both student learning and planning and documentation of instruction • responsibility for assessment and grading • reporting attendance • being the face of Järfälla Language Center QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who • have the current language as your mother tongue or have documented good knowledge of the language • have very good knowledge of Swedish and your mother tongue in both speech and writing • have good knowledge of culture and school systems in the countries the students come from • have good knowledge of Swedish culture and the Swedish school system • are familiar with the Swedish school's curriculum and other governing documents • have teacher training or equivalent pedagogical education and experience • have experience in mother tongue instruction and study guidance • find it easy to meet students individually and in groups and to create good relationships • have good computer skills • have great flexibility and a solution-focused approach, as rapid changes may occur in the assignment based on the needs of the schools • are accustomed to taking great personal responsibility and can work independently As a mother tongue teacher, you meet a large number of staff you need to be able to collaborate with, both mother tongue colleagues and subject teachers at the schools. Being able to collaborate with all your colleagues and other staff is a prerequisite for working with us.
