We are seeking an Environmental Consultant for contract management of National Vegetation Regulation at the Swedish Transport Agency (Trafikverket).
This is a consulting assignment with flexible location between Gävle, Jönköping, Umeå, Solna, Malmö or Gothenburg.
The position encompasses approximately 15–30% of full-time.
The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which requires strong flexibility and teamwork skills.
The Assignment
The role involves independently managing contract follow-up within the National Vegetation Regulation on railways project. The consultant is responsible for monitoring contractors' weed and invasive species control work in the field and ensuring that work is performed according to contract, laws and internal guidelines. The assignment is carried out in close dialogue with the project organization and includes travel within the relevant region and to the project management office in Gävle.
Work Tasks
Plan and present seasonal delivery follow-up
Conduct and compile delivery follow-up before, during and after control measures
Evaluate contractors' completed work
Support internally and externally with facility knowledge
Prepare materials for production and construction meetings based on observations made
Participate in weekly coordination meetings and report completed work to the project team
Participate in production and construction meetings as needed
Ensure that contracts are executed according to contract terms, applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and work instructions
Initiate, prepare and monitor projects or sub-assignments regarding time, cost, quality, safety, work environment and environment
Ensure that authority requirements and client requirements are met
Follow up customer matters concerning weeds and invasive species
Provide technical advice
Requirements (NOTE, mandatory)
Able to express yourself well in Swedish both orally and in writing.
B-class driver's license.
At least 3 years of work experience (as a designer, specialist, project engineer, or case officer) in the Environment field. Work experience should not be older than 10 years.
Knowledge of laws and regulations as well as standards and regulations within the relevant area.
Required work experience from at least one assignment comparable to the current assignment, e.g., BPU assignment.
Fluent Swedish in speech and writing.
