The Environmental and Health Protection Unit with its 26 employees operates under the Environmental and Building Permits Committee and is part of the Community Development Administration. Our goal is to be an efficient and lawful authority that contributes to good food safety, a healthy environment, and sustainable development in the municipality. 1 position(s). WORK DUTIES As one of our colleagues is relocating to another area, we welcome a new team member to our work group. As an inspector, you work both independently and in teams, which means you should collaborate easily with your colleagues and be able to drive your own projects. We are now seeking an environmental inspector with a focus on health protection. The health protection group currently consists of five people. You will, among other things, conduct inspections at preschools/schools, facilities with hygienic handling, and various temporary accommodations. You will also investigate housing complaints and handle radon cases. Work tasks can be adapted to some extent based on previous experience and operational needs. You will draft documents and decision briefs and independently make decisions within your delegation. As an inspector, you may represent the authority in various collaboration groups. You will also contribute to fulfilling the unit's inspection plan and conducting oversight so that legislative intentions are met with promised processing times. You will be involved in the department's quality work. We use Ecos 2 as our case management system. QUALIFICATIONS Higher education in environmental and health protection or equivalent education. Documented knowledge of environmental legislation is required. We believe you have the ability to plan, work independently, and base decisions on good judgment and sound legal practice. You should be organized and service-oriented. Inspection work requires strong ability to express yourself well in speech and writing. Since building good relationships is important, your personal qualities matter to us. Good knowledge of the Office suite is required.
