WORK TASKS The Environmental and Building Permits Unit is responsible for supervision, permitting, inspection, and advisory services in accordance with the Environmental Code, Food Act, Planning and Building Act, as well as legislation concerning alcohol, tobacco, tobacco-free nicotine products, and other age-restricted goods. Furthermore, we work toward continued sustainable development of Östra Göinge kommun. The Environmental and Building Permits Unit has nine employees, and we are now expanding our team with an additional person. As an inspector, you will be an important part of the municipality's work to create a more sustainable society for current and future generations. The role includes supervision under the Environmental Code. Work tasks also encompass other relevant tasks within the unit's area, where focus may be adjusted based on your knowledge and experience. You are expected to be involved in the unit's development work and work preventively through advisory services and collaborative assignments both internally and externally. We have a very good work environment in the unit, and we're looking for someone who wants to contribute to this. Through introduction and mentorship, we will ensure you get a good start in your work and integration into the team. QUALIFICATIONS The person we seek is positive and service-oriented. Since the position involves many contacts with people in various contexts, we would like you to be collaborative and attentive while maintaining strong integrity. You hold a university degree in environmental science or environmental and occupational health, or alternatively another education that the employer considers relevant for the position. You have strong ability to read, interpret, and explain legislation and court decisions, as well as apply current legislation. It is meritorious if you have experience working in municipal operations, as well as experience with supervision of contaminated sites and agriculture, water protection areas, and individual sewage systems. Experience working with the Ecos case management system is an advantage. Great weight will be placed on your personal qualities. It is important that you express yourself well in speech and writing, have good computer skills, and the ability to work both independently and together with others.
