Environmental Manager at Nordkalk Sverige Do you want to be part of developing environmental work in a modern mining operation – and drive complex permit processes from idea to implementation? We are looking for an experienced and committed Environmental Manager who wants to take a central role in our continued environmental and sustainability efforts. As Environmental Manager with us, you will be responsible for environmental permit processes at Nordkalk's locations in Sweden, as well as permits, monitoring and reporting related to emissions trading. You will work closely with operations, management, technical functions, consultants and authorities to ensure that our projects and ongoing operations can develop in a responsible and long-term sustainable manner. You will also be involved in other environmental reporting and you will support your organization on all environmental matters. You will be able to lead projects aimed at reducing our environmental footprint, which for example could involve reducing emissions or promoting biodiversity. Beyond managing Sweden's environmental matters, you will participate in joint group-level tasks and work closely with environmental managers in the other countries we operate in. You will be able to participate in stakeholder collaboration and work actively with authorities. In the role, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team that, together with a broad range of tasks, provides a good overview of the entire company's operations. We have operations at several locations in Sweden but we would prefer your location to be Mälardalen, Bergslagen or Gotland. Remote work is also possible to some extent. Travel occurs frequently in the position. You will, among other things: Lead and coordinate environmental permit processes in accordance with environmental legislation. Be responsible for environmental matters in connection with new projects, changes and expansions of operations. Drive work with environmental impact assessments, supporting documents and supplements in permit matters. Maintain ongoing dialogue with supervisory authorities, regional administrative boards and other agencies. Ensure that operations comply with conditions in current environmental permits and other regulatory requirements. Be responsible for and develop self-monitoring, environmental monitoring and reporting. Monitor changes in upcoming environmental legislation and assess how these affect operations. Identify environmental risks and opportunities for improvements in areas such as water, emissions, energy, waste, chemicals and biodiversity. Be a qualified environmental support to management, project organization and production. Contribute to the company's long-term strategy in environmental and sustainable development. To become a successful Environmental Manager: You have three years of work experience handling environmental matters in the process industry and a post-secondary education in the field, such as environmental science, engineering or geology. Your communication skills are excellent and you are fluent in Swedish and English in your work. You need to have a good and inspiring attitude toward work and the ability to lead different people. Previous experience in the mining industry is considered a merit. Particularly valuable is experience in: Environmental permits and environmental assessment. The Environmental Code and associated regulations. Environmental impact assessments and permit applications. Authority dialogue and consultation processes. Permit conditions and self-monitoring. Environmental management systems (ISO 14001) Emissions trading (EU ETS) and Sustainability Disclosure Project management and coordination of external environmental consultants.
