The Department of Technology and Community Services is a broad and socially important workplace where many areas of expertise work together. Here we work with the entire community building process – from government administration and planning to project implementation, operations, and service. The Department of Technology and Community Services consists of operational areas for community, operations, meals, and water and waste. The community operational area consists of the units Project, Maintenance, Land Survey, and Building and Environment. The Building and Environment unit is responsible for government matters within the areas of building permits, environmental and health protection inspections, and food control. In addition to government inspections, the unit is responsible for providing good service to the public and businesses in these areas and for participating in the municipality's community building process. 1 position(s). JOB DUTIES The position is placed within the Building and Environment unit's health protection group, which handles indoor environment issues, inspection of health protection activities, participation in the municipality's community building process, and individual sewage systems. The position involves conducting inspections at various types of health protection activities and handling complaint matters, drafting service reports and decisions, and providing information, guidance, and advice to businesses and the public. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with relevant higher education, for example an environmental science degree. You may also have other education in the field that the employer considers equivalent. We would like you to have experience working with government administration and good knowledge of current environmental legislation and its application. Experience working at an environmental and health protection office is a merit. Since a large part of the work involves government administration, it is important that you are thorough, clear, and articulate well in both spoken and written Swedish. You need the ability to convey information in a simple and pedagogical way. You should also be able to make objective and factual assessments as well as set clear requirements and make well-founded decisions. To work as an inspector in Motala municipality, you must have good computer skills and a B driving license. You organize and plan your work well, work according to a clear process where you complete what you start. You set time frames and meet deadlines. You are confident in yourself, stand up for your opinions, and have the courage to speak up when needed. You have the ability to separate the issue from the person and can feel secure even in uncertain situations. You think in new ways and find new solutions to both old and new problems.
