Join our team! Valmiera Municipality is seeking a Senior Forest Specialist for the Valmiera Municipality Nature Resources Management Department on an indefinite basis. If you have the desire to: • participate in implementing sustainable forest resource management and protection; • participate in developing and monitoring regulatory acts and legal documents related to Valmiera Municipality forest management issues; • coordinate and, within your competence, participate in developing and implementing the current version of Valmiera Municipality forest management concept; • prepare opinions and conditions for development proposals in the Municipality forest management and protection field; • prepare information on environmental conditions, environmental quality, environmental and nature protection upon request; • prepare contracts and agreements related to forest management; • coordinate and participate in fulfilling tasks assigned to the municipality under the Hunting Law and related Cabinet of Ministers regulations; and if you have: • second-level professional or academic higher education (or equivalent higher education) in forestry, natural sciences, environmental science, agricultural sciences or engineering; • work experience in forest/environmental field-related areas for at least three years, as well as knowledge of latest trends in the forest sector; • knowledge of regulatory acts governing forest protection and management; • experience in applying sector terminology and regulatory acts related to forest/environmental field; • competencies: excellent organizational and communication skills, argumentation and public speaking skills, ability to think logically and analyze data, work intensively, make independent decisions within your authority and take responsibility, creativity, initiative and ability to seek and propose new solutions; • state language proficiency in accordance with State Language Law requirements; • good computer skills (MS Office) and ability to work with office equipment; • Category B driving license; we offer: • dynamic, interesting and responsible work and opportunities to implement ideas in a development-oriented Municipality; • base salary during probation 1483 EUR before tax, after probation 1605 EUR before tax; • opportunity to receive vacation allowance for work-life balance for good work performance; • employer-co-financed health insurance after probation period ends, as well as other social guarantees/benefits in accordance with work results and regulatory requirements; • opportunities for professional development and growth in a team of knowledgeable and responsive colleagues.
